Question:
What is the difference between a
press release that gets thousands of visitors and
one that struggles to get just a handful of
visitors?
The answer may shock you... keep
reading to find out!
So here's the thing... my first two
press releases generated over 100,000 visitors in
one week... EACH!
A friend of mine sent out his first
press release and generated only a handful of
visitors to his website.
What's the difference... we both
paid the same... we have the same writing style,
keyword density, and word count.
But why did I get a flood of traffic
while he silently slipped into the deep dark abyss
of 8 billion web pages?
Here is the deal, most press
releases are lousy, they are about subjects that
very few "news" agencies care about... and most of
the time the goal is just to get traffic... not end
up on Oprah. So with this goal in mind you must
first focus on traffic and targeted traffic.
Here is an example... lets say you
have a brand new site about how to take care of
fish. Your site is new and has no page rank,
traffic, or anything. But you want traffic.
Think about this... you can leverage
the power of the press release website (where your
article will be featured) to generate good solid
traffic by using their page rank and popularity.
Now this doesn't mean you can slap
up a press release about making money and instantly
rank for the word money making. It does however mean
that if you select the right keywords with the right
amount of visitors, and the lowest possible
competition, to get ranked in less than 24 hours.
Let me show you what I mean.
Lets say we have a site about how to
take care of a goldfish.
We could go for the word "goldfish"
which gets about 1244 searches per day and has
5,850,000 competing pages in Google. Your press
release probably wont rank high on that term due to
the high competition.
So i would suggest to go for a
second tier term such as "goldfish diseases" which
gets about 87 visitors a day and only has 265,000
competing pages... not to mention this is more
targeted and will get a better sales ratio. Because
of the low competition you can also go for words
like "goldfish care" at 162 searches per day, and
"fantail goldfish care" at 17 searches per day.
So here are a few tips for you to get
the most out of your next press release.
1. Analyze your keywords

2. Analyze your competition (can u
compete)
3. Look at the competitors sites and

4. Choose 1-5 keywords for your press

the 5 words by writing your release around them
6. Submit and test.
