We will go over each site together and talk about conversion, tracking, seo, ppc, all that good stuff.

. I have owned many web sites and after 6 yrs my domain name has ranked high enough however bare to none on conversions. I rank first page out of 85,000 and a few other search able terms. This new web site is lame. I have to add more content. I have a nitch in the Equine Portrait Artist,horse art, equine photographer/pet portraits and I am adding my other links http://www.cafepress.com/susandecker.com that I am just changing over to Equine everything yada yada. I rank first page out of 85,000. I have my blog I am adding. One paid affiliate related to the Equine ie Horse world. Very expensive jewelery with 10% return. Right now my site does not speak volumes in content to purchase my art prints nor commission me to do portrait of any kinds. That to I am building. Any way any pointers have at it.

New site (first site) – been developing for more than a month because I’m learning html along with everything else on the fly too, like most of your students. I startd using adwords 7 days ago for this site. I’ve had 40 clicks from those words with about 15 differant adds running on 9 campaigns. I set budget constraint per day for the entire group of adds.
Troubles and observations are two-fold (at least)…
1 – The cost per click is very high in the credit card, identity theft, payday loans, etc. arenas – at least they are for me. I have made many adjustments to bid prices on several key words just to get onto page one and get the clicks I’ve gotten. Many of my other key words have no chance at all of ever drawing me to page one because they’ve been as high as $11 per click – eleven dollars! There are many issues and facets to this topic, including key words, getting better prices, understanding and dealing with the daily changes in bid prices, nuances beyond belief and more.
2 – My site is getting about a 25% click thru (although with such low numbers that may not be relevant yet), however, no sales. So in 7 days, I’ve spent $46 for 40 clicks and made zero. Not a great start, or maybe it is and I just don’t know it yet.
Help me get my clicks cheaper, develop free traffic, adjust the site as needed, refine my promotions and adds/keywords, etc. and this site could really rock and roll… or so I think.
If you pick my site, you’ll be able to cover a lot of topics and kill many birds with one video-stone!

We coded our site with the free, open source NVU HTML editing software that we’ve seen you use.
We just want you to know that we’ve learned from you facets of marketing, business, keyword research, email marketing campaigns, SEO, hosting….etc.
Although we’re both computer literate, neither of us has run an internet business. Essentially, we’ve followed your advice and did some additional reading on things that you stressed and things that we didn’t fully understand, or topics that we felt would be handy or just fun.
We subscribed to WordTracker to do our keyword homework to find a market to be in based on what people wanted. We used WordTracker’s free online trial and then subscribed.
Marcus…We’re less concerned with making a profit at this point as we are with learning, having fun. And providing a valuable service.

The domain name we procured 6 months ago is pertinent to a potentially lucrative market that we think we’ve found. We found some relatively cheap keywords with a good number of searches and relatively little competition….and we just went for it.
Besides……all of the content on our site is free to us, accurate, timely, valuable, information and it’s all very pertinent to the words in our Google AdWords campaign.
My wife and I started playing with keyword research and found a market that looked like we could maybe put a product or offer in front of a herd of people, relatively cheaply if done right.
More importantly, we like the idea of being in the business of providing to people, very accurate, useful and current emergency information. We want this to be a clearing house of preparedness resources for anybody to access.
We downloaded the free HTML editor we saw you using and read up a bit on e-marketing.
We will monetize it primarily with a modest Google AdSense campaign to get bodies to the site. We’ll work with the content and copy and keep it fresh.
We’ll also have, as soon as we figure out how to do the HTML, an area for Google AdSense on all pages.
We will have several affiliate marketing offerings on each page as well. We’re sifting through a bunch right now.
But not too many as you suggest. I also hate a cluttered page.
All of the topics mentioned and the information discussed in this posting we had never heard of prior to bumping into you on the internet…..Thanks Marcus.
It’s definitely a business that will be satisfying and possibly lucrative to operate when it’s more refined. What do you think?

I started this blog just as a hobby but now I want to make some money off it. I have a decent traffic on this site and it seems to be ranking well in Google’s organic listing too.
The only problem is that its not converting well. It did Ok when I first started out but now its slowing down. So I don’t know if its because of the bad economy or I just need to change things around.

This site has been up for about 4 years. It has taken several different approaches. Currently it is a lead collector for an affiliate program. I’ve tried clickbank products and adsense in the past, but I have yet to make any money.
The site gets SERPs for “charge offs credit repair”, “bankruptcy and credit repair”(page 2), “late payments and credit repair”, “repossession credit repair”, “foreclosures and credit repair”, and many others.
I get around 30-40 visits daily, but no money, no leads.
I’m lost.

Can’t get traffic above 80 – 100 visitors per day (organic traffic). Low conversion rate 3-5 sales per month. PPC keywords extremely competitive, so, not running Adwords campaigns. All traffic coming from articles, link building, social marketing… Exhausting, frustrating… not very profitable.
I have the lamest website! I can create one ok, but need help in naming it and making it appealing. When it comes to putting it online and getting traffic, I am lost..I’m not sure how to get adsense on it. Help!

I change the colors on my site. It looks a lot better with the black background. When I do a search for it in google, instead of the title of my site it says “index of” and in the description there’s a lot of gobbledegook. I can’t figure out how to change that. help!

I used KeyWord Elite to identify my niche market.
Main Problems:
1) How to monetize this site to make $137 bucks a day?
2) Google Slap — Direct Linking from affiliate programs is problematic with Adwords.
– Solutions Tried: Use the main site’s URL (not my affiliate links) in the Adwords display and destination URLs; but under the keywords use my affiliate links.
3) Plenty of PPC Clicks… But “NO” Conversions / Even when giving away free trials.
a. Visitors will not sign up for the free cooking report. (Autoresponder)
b. Visitors don’t download the FREE coupons or gift cards. Bummer.
4) I thought giving stuff away would be easy. Not the case. So, now I want to build a site that sells stuff, but am worried that I will not be successful based on this test.

I am newbie to branding myself. I am 46 and from the old school but very much want to be in the new school!
From 1987 to 1995 my ex and I had an Amway business that moved $15,000 to $30,000 of product a month, every single month, for those 8 years. After our upline Diamond told us how much more money he was making from the WWDB system instead of the actual movement of Amway products, which we did know that he made some money from the system but not that 2/3’s of his $300,000 a year was from that system. We quit. Don’t get me wrong, I see nothing wrong with making money from a system that helps people to learn and be motivated but to imply otherwise and mislead people into thinking otherwise is just not honest. Personally, I was very hurt by this deception and wanted nothing to do with MLMs.
After my ex left me three years ago I started looking into MLM’s again. I needed to start making money and I didn’t want to get a job. I had really loved our networking business and the invovlement in people’s lives. I looked at over 25 companies, joined many of them, to find that only a few of them didn’t invovle some kind of deception. Now I have found out that in working with building a network marketing company what most people are teaching isn’t working.
I want to be in the new school and brand myself. Create relationships and give people something of value before I even talk to them about a network marketing business. So I have gotten myself a website. JeanetteFinnonline.com, .org, .info, .net. My .com and my .org are hosted with Host Gator and I have downloaded Aweber.
I think it would be great if you worked with one of my sites because it would be from start to finish! A fresh slate! It would be a great help to me and to all the other newbies or people that would want to get a new site and start with you from step one!

I have a site called http://www.GetExBackProductReports.com . It is a review site for an irrational niche of wanting to get your ex back after a breakup. I created the site back in Jan/February.
I have about 10-20 visitors a day. I was making on average about a sale every 3 days. For some reason around the 1st of May sales just suddenly stopped. I have since learned about cloaking links and have just now cloaked all my links. I have also written Clickbank to see if they could supply a reason for the sudden stop of sales.
Any insights would be so appreciative about anything about the site….I have a lot of fun with it and it helps people with broken hearts which I know a lot about!

I am a webmaster I have ventured into internet Marketing through a sea of crazy products, I have found that I just want to make simple sites that make the most profit from ad sense or product sales by giving relevant content to the people, I have not had much luck with click bank products and would like to just make niche site that pull in revenue and build a network of eager skilled individuals like my self.
I currently have about 20 sites and most of the money coming in is from ad sense I have created clocked redirect pages for all my links, now I am just optimizing my Google campaigns to go after those smaller more detailed searched keywords to get the most out of my traffic. I think you can help me turn my sites into profit and even help me to create a new niche site from scratch. How can I get the most out of Google and spend the least? Anytime I set my budget too low ie 15-20 cents is says no traffic will result.
Should i just set it low and choose real specific keywords anyway and try that? As you could tell I am interested in your program and you know I have bought a few but this just makes sense.I am no into throwing money away from my business but I believe your product will be worth it.

I started this website not noing a thing about doing it. I thought the more you added to it and the more merchants you have, you will make money. It didn’t happen. I now place ads on 3stepads.com, free-adz.com and I write some article on GoArticles.com, I also have a few lenses on squidoo.com, but none of them are making me any money. I just bought 3 domain names from godaddy.com and I have them parked. I am trying to figure out how to use them. I am tired of spending money I cannot afford for every Tom, Dick and Harry’s programs. I’m stuck!
I would like to have an authority site on the subject of Investing. I also buy mini sites related to the investing and money niche. Other sites that I currently have are: TheMortgageBlog.info and forexnstock.com. The main site for the subject of investing is under construction and those sites that are mentioned here will be linked to the main site as blogs of different interest. At this time, I am trying to find information about authority sites but very little info that describes an authority site.
